Yrittäisivät ensin päättää mikä globaali lämpötilatrendi on nykyään niin voitaisiin uskottavasti keskustella siitä mitä se tulee olemaan sadan vuoden kuluttua.

Christian Science Monitor toteaa 8.2.2013 seuraavaa:

Global temperatures are rising faster than scientists thought possible even a few years ago. The Arctic icecap is melting at a rate that few researchers had anticipated, and, most ominously, the permafrost is beginning to thaw, which could release vast amounts of methane, a greenhouse gas 20 times more potent than CO2.

BBC totesi puolestaan 8.1.2013 seuraavaa:

The UK Met Office has revised one of its forecasts for how much the world may warm in the next few years. 

It says the average temperature is likely to be 0.43 C above the long-term average by 2017, as opposed to an earlier forecast suggesting a difference of 0.54C.
